We have been providing comprehensive legal services in the area of personal data protection for more than two decades, ever since the adoption of the first personal data protection law in the Czech Republic in 2000. We have conducted dozens of projects to implement the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal services in the area of data protection cover both the resolution of systemic issues as well as the resolution of everyday problems in business practice.

Rödl & Partner's consultancy covers all systemic and individual issues of data processing and data protection.

We offer the following legal services

  • Analysis and design of an appropriate internal solution for systemic assurance of compliance with all legal obligations of the personal data controller based on the Privacy by Design principle
  • Implementation of GDPR requirements and related regulatory and other legal regulations into the company's internal processes 
  • Advising on the development of the initial internal Data Processing and Protection Policy and other related rules and organizational documentation required by the GDPR
  • Identification and analysis of the main GDPR risks for a company, taking into account the subject matter and specific business activities of the company as well as other criteria
  • Conducting comprehensive and specialised GDPR audits as independent external control tools
  • Representing a company in proceedings before the Office for Personal Data Protection and/or the regional labour inspectorate for breach of the controller's obligations under the GDPR and related legislation
  • Organisation and professional provision of internal training for employees in personal data protection and privacy protection in the workplace  
  • Advising on data protection when implementing internal whistleblower protection channels
  • Expert support and advice on the introduction of new production, business and/or logistics models to ensure compliance with GDPR requirements   
       
Our advice in the area of personal data protection and workplace privacy is aimed at ensuring that our clients meet the requirements and individual obligations of the data controller under applicable legislation. We also help clients effectively avoid the associated risks, in particular the possibility of fines of up to CZK 20,000,000 or 4% of a company’s  total annual worldwide turnover for the last financial year, whichever is higher. 

Significantly, our data protection and privacy services are never provided in isolation, but always in close connection with other areas of corporate compliance and business practice.
