Deadline for applying under Call for Applications VIII for the OPPIK Inovace programme has been extended

PrintMailRate-it
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has doubled the volume of funds available under the currently-open Call for Applications VIII for the OPPIK Inovace subsidy-disbursement programme. The volume of funds has been increased to CZK 3 billion. Concurrently, the deadline for delivery of applications has been extended to 30 March 2021. This means that applicants, including those from the category of large enterprises, still have an opportunity to take advantage of one of the last opportunities for subsidies under the Operational Programme for Entrepreneurial Activity and Innovation (known under the Czech acronym OPPIK).

Who is eligible to apply for the subsidy?

  • Entrepreneurial entities - legal entities and individuals (small, midsized and large enterprises)
  • Large enterprises are allowed to submit an application only within the framework of Intervention Code 065 (where the relevant project has a significant positive environmental impact) or within the framework of Intervention Code 063 (direct collaboration between large enterprises and small and midsized enterprises)
  • Supported business sectors: manufacturing (other than CZ-NACE 19.10, 20.60 and 30.11), waste treatment, publishing, audio recording sector, creation of programmes and broadcasting, technical testing and analysis, computer repair

What is the maximum subsidy one can obtain?

  • Minimum subsidy: CZK 1 million
  • Maximum subsidy: CZK 75 million

Degree of support

  • 45% for a small enterprise (up to 50 employees)
  • 35% for a midsized enterprise (up to 250 employees)
  • 25% for a large enterprise (more than 250 employees)

What can the subsidy be used for?

  • Improving technical value and utility value of products, technologies and services (product innovation)
  • Increasing efficiency of production processes and services (process innovation)
  • Introducing new methods for organizing firm processes through the introduction of new IT systems that integrate the processes within an enterprise and focus primarily on interlinking R&D, innovation and production (organizational innovation)
  • Increasing sales of products and services through a major change in product design or packaging design, through better meeting customer needs, opening new markets or introducing new sales channels (marketing innovation)

Subsidies may be obtained for capital expenditures into:

  • Production technologies
  • IT technologies (intangible fixed assets up to 50% of total costs from which the subsidy is calculated)
  • Intellectual property rights (patents, licences etc.)
  • Certification of products
  • Construction costs (up to 20% of the total volume of expenditures from which the subsidy is calculated)

Relationship to R&D

Eligibility for support is based on the applicant having completed the relevant research and development, the support only applies after the innovation has been put into series production (sale). For the implementation of a project, all of the following conditions must be fulfilled:
  • Existence of a functional model or prototype
  • Technology transfer (purchase of industrial rights) or demonstrating own research and development
  • High degree of innovation in the product or production process: at least level 6 innovation (new generation), pivotal innovation and at least level 5 accompanying innovations (new version) for small, midsized and large enterprises
  • It must be possible to successfully market the results of the project

Where can the subsidies be drawn?

  • Throughout the territory of the Czech Republic with the exception of the capital city of Prague. The decisive factor is the location of the capital expenditures, not the location of the applicant's registered office

When can one obtain the subsidies?

  • Deadline for delivery of applications: 30 April 2021

The costs cannot be expended until the application is submitted. The subsidy is provided retroactively in the form of a reimbursement after the relevant project has been completed. This means that it is necessary to fist fund the project from one's own resources or other sources (loans, credit). In the case of construction, the construction permit is to be submitted when the Terms and Conditions are signed (if a permit is required for the construction of the relevant structure).
