Disputes can be settled without going to court. There are other, alternative ways how to resolve a dispute that are more efficient and affordable. We at Rödl & Partner offer an alternative resolution of your disputes with the assistance of an independent accredited mediator.

What is mediation?

Mediation is an efficient instrument for alternative dispute resolution, which may be applied to any number of situations. In addition to finding the best solution, mediation also strives to conciliate and resolve the cause of the dispute. One of the main benefits of mediation is that the final solution is established in the course of the parties’ negotiations, which helps settle the conflict in the long-term.

Who can benefit from mediation?

Mediation does not only serve to facilitate the settlement of business and employment disputes, it may also be used to handle all types of personal and workplace conflicts. Mediation is therefore available to anyone who wants to settle their dispute outside a court of law.

Why use mediation?

Mediation allows the parties to stay in control of dispute resolution, while allowing them to listen to each other and obtain a better understanding of their mutual expectations. Mediation gives the space necessary for the parties to communicate their needs and saves both sides time and money.

Most frequently, we mediate the resolution of

  • Commercial disputes (contractual performance and consideration, copyright, intellectual property rights, settlement claims)
  • Employment disputes (conflicts between employers and employees, workplace disputes, employment termination disputes)
  • Corporate disputes (internal disputes in business corporations, disputes among members, shareholders or directors)
